How to do LinkedIn in 30-60 minutes a day
You DON'T have to post 20x a week
I genuinely don't understand how it's 2026 and people still say post things like “GET MY TRILLION $ LINKEDIN PLAYBOOK!” with a straight face.
Either it still works on some people, or those creators are still living in 2014… either way, I don’t get it 🤷
That said, “How should I spend my time on LinkedIn?” is one of the most common questions I get, so I figured I’d lay it all out here for everyone who’s interested.
And spoiler warning, the answer does NOT require that you spend 30 hours a week on content:

PREP
Make a list of ~100 people in 3 categories:
People you want to work with
Vendors/partners/etc
Peers
DAILY (30-60 minutes total)
→ Check your DMs and reply to them ASAP.
Sounds obvious, but a lot of people ignore them/only look every few days. Don’t do that!
→ Add ~5 people from the list (10 minutes)
Add a quick personalized note to each (can be as simple as “I see you’re a big fan of tacos, me too”).
→ DM 1-3 new people (5 minutes)
Use your judgement but I suggest keeping it super light/authentic: “loved your take on X / congrats on launching the new thing / etc.”
IMPORTANT: It’s totally ok to pitch if they opened the door to it (eg, if they just posted about their organic traffic taking a nosedive and you do SEO).
→ Leave a handful of comments (10-20 minutes, as many as you can do)
You can be “strategic” if you want, but I usually just scroll my timeline and comment on whatever’s interesting.
Again, it's important to be authentic. Don't just leave comments for the sake of leaving comments.
1-2 TIMES A WEEK
Just post something. Don’t overthink it; it doesn’t have to be a banger.
If you do all the other stuff on this list, posting content isn't nearly as important as a lot of people would have you believe.
Getting into content strategy is a whole other conversation beyond this newsletter, but the most important thing is just that you’re active, so it doesn't look like you have a dead profile.
Obviously, some people build amazing businesses with it, and you definitely CAN take that route if you want but it’s definitely not the only route.
EVERY 2 WEEKS
Add 30-50 new people to your list. Use sales navigator or regular LinkedIn search to find them.
That should give you enough for 10-15 days of new connection requests.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: BE CONSISTENT
Spend 30 to 60 minutes a day on this every day. Don't get lazy or come up with excuses. Just stay consistent and it’ll add up.
Let’s say you add 5-7 new people a day, and ~50% of them accept. That’s 2-4 new people a day added to your network, which is 400-800 new people a year!
That doesn't sound like a huge number compared to influencers who have 100k+ followers, but for most businesses, 800 quality new contacts a year would be massive. So you definitely don't need a huge audience, and you don't need to be posting 20 times a week.
You just need to make this a part of your daily operating system.
So now you have it… my TRILLION DOLLAR LINKEDIN PLAYBOOK!
Now where should I send the invoice?
