If you don't promote yourself, nobody will

Act accordingly...

Me, staring into your soul šŸ‘€

Hereā€™s a sad fact about the world: Opportunities usually go to the people who are most VISIBLE, not the people who ā€œdeserveā€ them.

Think about all the people youā€™ve seen get hired/promoted even though theyā€™re the most clueless moronsā€¦ youā€™re thinking ā€œhow did this dipsh*t get this job?!ā€

Iā€™m thinking about the boss I had who was a VP and literally didnā€™t know how to center text in Powerpoint.

(he quietly asked me to show him how to do itā€¦ I was stunned and horrified that this clown was my boss šŸ˜)

He may have been an idiot, but Iā€™ll give him credit where itā€™s due: he was incredible at self-promotion. He was great at putting himself in the spotlight, and making sure the right people saw.

And thereā€™s so many people out there like him.

Itā€™s a tragic irony: the people who DESERVE opportunities the most donā€™t get them because theyā€™re humble people who donā€™t seek the spotlight.

And the people who DO seek the spotlight are mostly self-centered, clueless and more than happy to throw you under the bus if it makes them look better.

Basically, the world works the exact opposite of how it should šŸ™ƒ

(as you can tell, Iā€™m a little salty about this topic)

So hereā€™s my point: You canā€™t let yourself be one of those people-- the ones who get overlooked and ignored while the self-promoting ghouls get all the opportunities.

Which is the entire reason I started my YouTube channel: I was f***ing sick of all this.

Sick of other people getting credit for things Iā€™d built, sick of making them look great while I got ignored, and sick of not getting the money I deserved.

I knew that if I didnā€™t promote myself, nobody was going to do it for me. Iā€™m not really someone who naturally seeks the spotlight, but I knew I had to do itā€¦

And here I am, 130 million views later: no longer invisible, and no longer teaching overpaid morons how to center text in Powerpoint.

And if that sounds familiar to you, you should be sick of it too.

So hereā€™s my advice:

Donā€™t let the world push you around or ignore you!

YOU DESERVE TO BE SEEN.

I mean this from the absolute bottom of my heart: Please, please donā€™t let these soulless, political, social-ladder-climbing clowns steal the spotlight that YOU deserve.

(as you can tellā€¦ I have some strong feelings about this šŸ˜…)

It might be a little uncomfortable, but you owe it to yourself (and the world) to put yourself out there and make yourself un-ignorable.

I donā€™t care if you do it on YouTube, LinkedIn, or MySpaceā€¦ just do it in whatever way works for you.

I promise you, IT WILL BE WORTH IT. When you have an audience, you play by totally different rules than everyone else.

The fate of your business (and career) is in your control. Youā€™re rewarded (not punished) for showing up as your authentic self.

And the rewards compound over time: as your audience grows, you get more returns (ie $$$) from the same amount of effort.

Itā€™s pretty great.

So my advice? Start now!
